If I had a dollar for every single time that I am asked about how I became an influencer, I would never have to work a day in my life! It is amazing how many people still think that it is some type of easy job that anyone could do. But the truth is there is a lot more to being an influencer than having a fun personality and a pretty face. Here is my three-step guide on how anyone can become an influencer on Instagram.
Find a Niche
There is no substitute for curated content that the audience wants to see. It may be tempting to just go from one subject to another for content, but it is not the way to go. It may give you a bigger audience at first, but I found that when I was targeting my posts to a niche, it was much better.
So many ask me about how to get more Instagram followers and I would say that buying them is not a bad option. If you’re looking to buy Instagram followers, check out Buzzoid.com. So long as it is done in the right way and it is strategic, you can have success with this process. But then I found that it was important for me to focus on the content that I was creating. I had to find a niche and stick to it!
People will know when you are doing a half-baked job on your content. They are even more demanding than you could imagine for good content. And if they see that I am not taking my job seriously, they are going to go somewhere else. And I would not blame them.
It is vital to have a very good camera or a smartphone that has a top camera. Then you have a basis for taking great photos and videos. Then you have to ensure that you are visiting the right places, using light in the most opportune ways, or showcasing products in an impressive setting.
Have a Theme
If you are wanting to get successful on Instagram, you need to have a theme. It is very interesting that when my account was starting out, I was trying so many different styles and themes. It is when I transitioned to one and then stuck to it – I was able to ensure that I had a theme that everyone understood.
When someone was following my account, they could tell that I had posted a picture even if they did not see my account information at the top or bottom. They would just know that it was a picture that I would post. And that is the type of recognition that you need to build up if you are serious about getting traction on Instagram.
I truly believe that it is not easy to be an influencer. It is a lot of hard work. I love the job, but it is one that takes a lot out of me most days. And you will have to treat it with the same level of importance if you want to make it work!
